A weekly reading group Season 2 It is time for Season 2 of the reasoning reading group! We will reboot our periodic meetings by starting on Thursday Nov 17th and meeting every two weeks from 5pm to 6pm in room G.03 at Informatics Forum. The discussion will then continue at a pub! As in the previous season, we will explore all possible aspects of reasoning: from automated reasoning to human reasoning, connecting works from probabilistic to neuro-symbolic reasoning, while understanding how reasoning can be the enabler or the bottleneck to applications such as (visual and logical) question answering, causal representation learning, visual and natural language entailment, scene and video understanding. At the same time we will touch the theoretical foundations of abstract reasoning, reasoning with and under constraints, and the cognitive aspects of reasoning and generalization in humans. The Reading Group will also be a space for students to present their ongoing works and ask for feedback. The first paper we will discuss is: DreamCoder: Growing generalizable, interpretable knowledge with wake-sleep Bayesian program learning Please join the group mailing list at reasoning-group@mlist.is.ed.ac.uk. It will be the principal communication channel to discuss about and organize the reading group. To subscribe to the mailing list, send an email at sympa@mlist.is.ed.ac.uk with "subscribe reasoning-group <Your-name> <Your-surname>" as a subject, but leave the email body blank. Please contact Antonio Vergari a avergari@exseed.ed.ac.uk if you require assistance. Feel free to broadcast this invitation to whoever you think can be interested!
