14 June 2019 - Sebastian Ruder: Seminar TITLE: Transfer learning in NLP and beyond ABSTRACT: Over the last two years, the field of Natural Language Processing has witnessed the emergence of several transfer learning methods and architectures which significantly improved upon the state-of-the-art on a wide range of NLP tasks. In this talk, I will present an overview of the current state of transfer learning and provide an outlook into the future. BIO: Sebastian Ruder a research scientist at DeepMind, London. He completed his PhD in Natural Language Processing at the Insight Research Centre for Data Analytics, while working as a research scientist at Dublin-based text analytics startup AYLIEN. He studied Computational Linguistics at the University of Heidelberg, Germany and at Trinity College, Dublin.
