Held at St George's School, Edinburgh on 11th December 2024 We were delighted to join this important event aimed at inspiring, motivating and empowering females from Primary 6 upwards to take their first step towards a future in computing and technology.The mission of the event was to enthuse and empower girls, and highlight the range of careers available in technology, from leading, innovating to coding. The event featured successful women in the field, demonstrating to students that "if you can see it, you can be it." Surrounded by role models, attendees saw first-hand what is possible.Professor Sethu Vijayakumar and PhD student Elle Miller, along with Natalya Ratner from Robotical took part in an exciting discussion panel,. Robotics of the Future: Explore, Innovate, Translate.We had live and interactive demonstrations for all students to get involved with, including our popular Sphero maze game (with prizes!), our lower limb prosthetic exoskeleton with our team highlighting an important current project on robotics for neurodegenerative diseases, and our Quadruped, UniTree, was walking around the hall to meet and greet the students.With 600 students attending from state and private schools across Edinburgh, business leaders, alumnae and educators were brought together to provide a hands-on learning experience.
