Peggy Seriès authors the first introductory textbook in the emerging, fast-developing field of computational psychiatry, to be published on November 24th.

"Control of Prosthetic Hands: Challenges and emerging avenues", edited by Kia Nazarpour, has recently been published by the Institution of Engineering & Technology.

Richard Shillcock has co-authored a paper which has  been awarded a Computational Prize by the Cognitive Science Society.

Lecturer/Reader Position in Machine Learning

Can living computers do better than silicon ones?

Current theories suggest that schizophrenia could be described as a deficit in how the brain learns and uses internal models of its environment. In a collaboration with the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Dr Peggy Seriès and her team tested those theories by modelling the behaviour of patients with schizophrenia performing a visual statistical learning task.

The event as the French championship in track cycling Masters, it was happening in Le Neubourg in Normandy over 4 days of competition.

Prof Guido Sanguinetti has been awarded a grant by the Leverhulme Trust to investigate the dynamics of biochemical processes inside single cells.

Guido Sanguinetti’s former student Yuanhua Huang has recently been awarded the "Chinese government award for outstanding self finance students abroad” for his PhD work here in Informatics. There are 500 awarded each year across the world, and each worth $6000.

Peggy Seriès is known for combining an intense athletic life with her academic career.

Michael Gutmann will be co-organising a workshop on approximate Bayesian computation on the 24 June 2019.

Dr Edward Wallace awarded prestigious Royal Society/ Wellcome Trust Sir Henry Dale Fellowship to study stress response in infectious fungi.

Aleksej Stolicyn, also DTC student has received the Best Article Award for his paper

Mark's Chair is in Computational Neuroscience and Guido's Chair in Computational Bioinformatics.

Amazon/Edinburgh research workshop has over 100 participants discussion work in Amazon and in the School of Informatics in machine learning and natural language processing.

Peter is a former Ph.D student of the Centre for Cognitive Science, which was one of the founding departments of the School of Informatics.

Members of the Institute for Adaptive and Neural Computation are part of the recently funded Simons Foundation Initiative for Autism Research.
