ICSA Colloquium Talk - 14/07/2025

Talk Title: 6G: A Systems Perspective on the Convergence of Communications, Computing, Control, and Sensing

Abstract: The evolution from 2G to 5G has progressively enhanced connectivity, intelligence, and automation in mobile networks. As we transition to 6G, we are entering an era where the traditional boundaries between communications, computing, control, and sensing (3Cs + S) dissolve, paving the way for AI-native, bio-inspired networks. Much like the human nervous system, 6G networks will integrate real-time perception, cognition, and response, enabling self-optimizing and adaptive capabilities across distributed digital infrastructure.
This talk will explore how 6G is set to transform mobile architectures into intelligent, living systems – driven by enablers such as neuromorphic computing, edge AI, joint communication and sensing, THz spectrum, and quantum-secure networking. The convergence of 3Cs + S will unlock transformative applications like holographic communication, swarm robotics, and AI-powered digital twins – fueling a new era of autonomous digital ecosystems and ubiquitous intelligence.
