Built to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world practice, the Hub embeds industry standard workflows from across the data science and software engineering spectrum directly into ongoing projects.

Students work closely with the cross-functional team of the Hub through a learn-by-doing approach. The team delivers the technically complex work while students take on tasks that stretch their skills while building confidence and capability.

As a team, we work to agile principles ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high quality. This ensures students gain insights into professional development processes, tooling, and collaboration patterns that mirror real commercial teams. Our team houses a blend of technical and biological expertise, including AI and machine learning model development, data science, and software engineering, applied to molecular data, healthcare data, medical devices and and drug discovery.
