Title: 3D Content Creation and Analysis

 

Abstract: Computer graphics technology represents 3D shapes digitally as so-called 3D models, which are the key and basic building blocks of various applications, e.g., industry design, medical treatment, physical simulation, and architecture design. We are particularly interested in the applications of entertainment, product design, and medical treatment, where the inputs share the common challenge that they are imprecise and noisy.

To bridge the gap of noisy input to clean 3D models, we have proposed a novel methodology that utilizes a neural network to learn an intermediate shape representation from noisy input and produces clean 3D models via geometric processing. In this talk, I will present this methodology with applications in sketch-based modeling, point cloud and medical image analyzing and processing.
