Celebrating Ada Lovelace Day 2023

[10/10/2023] Ada Lovelace Day is an annual event held on the second Tuesday of October to celebrate and raise awareness of the contributions of women to science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) fields.

It is named after mathematician and computer science pioneer Ada Lovelace. It started in 2009 as a "day of blogging" and has since become a multi-national event with conferences.

Elizabeth Polgreen receives the Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship

Jane Hillston recognised in King’s Birthday Honours

NQCC’s Software Lab led by Elham Kashefi launched

The National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) and the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh signed a memorandum of understanding on developing a quantum software and applications centre that aims to overcome key challenges to accelerate the development of quantum computing and investigate new ways in which quantum computers can provide benefits, beyond the reach of traditional computers.
