Process Mining uses data science to reconstruct organisational processes and reveal bottlenecks based on data stored in IT systems. With its academic DNA, Process Mining has not only turned into a budding research field, but also transformed the way companies operate. The talk will cover an introduction to Process Mining both from an academic and applied perspective, its application in data-driven management today, as well as a hands-on case study in the software. The session will also include insights into the unicorn story of Celonis. As one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe, Celonis grew from a student start-up into the global market leader and pioneer of digital transformation, as well as recent tech-unicorn realising millions of savings for global players like Uber, BMW, Siemens or Vodafone. Biography Angela-Sophia Gebert, Academic Alliance Manger at Celonis, is responsible for the global education and research cooperation program at Celonis. She graduated in Linguistics, Psychology and Economics from the University of Oxford and LMU Munich. Prior to joining Celonis in January 2019, Angela has worked in the financial services and consulting industry for Savills Investment Management and Bain & Company.
