7 August 2017: Francisco Quesada

Emergency response scenarios are characterised by the participation of multiple agencies, which cooperate to control the situation and restore normality. These agencies can come from diverse areas of expertise which entails that they represent knowledge differently, using their own vocabularies and terminologies. This fact complicates the automation of the information-sharing process, creating problems such as ambiguity or specialisation. In my PhD, I am defining an approach to tackle these problems by domain-aware semantic matching, which requires the formalisation of domain-specific terminologies. In this seminar, I am going to present the progress of my work during the second year of my PhD, as well as, some challenges which need to be tackled. The presentation will conclude with the planning for next year.
