The Blockchain Technology Laboratory was officially launched on 24 February 2017. The lab will be fully up and running from summer 2017, located in the School of Informatics’ newly refurbished Appleton Tower. The lab will connect researchers directly to developers, meaning the latest academic research will be put to use immediately in industry. Outreach projects will foster connections with entrepreneurs in the vibrant local technology community. The lab is funded jointly by the University of Edinburgh and blockchain research and development company, IOHK.
