Information on selecting and submitting your optional course choices Course enrolment for continuing studentsAs a continuing student you will select your optional course choices for the following academic year using Course Selection Forms. These are available in May each year and should be completed by 12:00 noon, Friday 29th May 2026 for academic year 2026/27. Please see your Degree Programme Table (DPT) for your course options:Informatics Degree Programme TablesSelecting your coursesIt is important that you follow your DPT and select the correct number and level of SCQF credits for your year of study:Students in year 2 must register for exactly 120 credits of level 7/8 courses, plus any level 7/8 courses required to make up a credit deficit from year 1. Taking additional courses for credit is not possible.Students in year 3 must register for exactly 120 credits of level 9/10 courses, plus any level 7/8 courses required to make up a credit deficit from year 1 or 2. Taking additional courses for credit is not possible.Students in year 4 or 5 must register for exactly 120 points. Taking additional courses for credit is not possible.Some courses have pre-requisites, co-requisites or prohibited combinations. If you do not meet these course requirements then you will not be permitted to take the course. It's not possible to take Informatics courses as "Class Only", instead course materials are available via Open Course.
