The programme of welcome events for the School of Informatics UG1 students Welcome Week Welcome Week is traditionally the week before studies start. This year, it will start on Monday 14th September and end on Friday 18th September 2026.The School of Informatics Welcome events are detailed in the table below; please attend the sessions as they contain important information to get you started on your undergraduate (UG) degree programme. You can download the free App by following these instructions: Event App Matriculation and student card collection Before you arrive, you should have completed the online registration form, which will be available via the MyEd portal in the Student Personal Details channel around 4 weeks before your programme start date. Full information is available on the Student Support website: How to Register If you have not already received your student card, you can collect it from the University card collection event at the Main Library, George Square. Card Collection Open Hours Meeting your student adviser and cohort lead, and confirming attendance During Welcome Week (Monday 14th - Friday 18th September) you are required to attend your mandatory school welcome event (listed above). The date and time of this event can be found in your School of Informatics welcome email or by searching on the Events App for the name of your degree programme.This event is your opportunity to meet with your Student Adviser, Cohort Lead and your peers. Confirmation of attendance will take place at this event, so please make sure to bring your student card with youPlease note: You will not be fully matriculated as a student until your attendance has been confirmed by your Student Adviser or through international checkin. This needs to be completed by Friday 2nd October 2026 (end of week 2); after this date you will be referred to the College Office and you may not be permitted to commence your studies. University Matriculation Information Your Student Adviser is responsible for registering your course choices; the deadline to register your courses is 17.00 on 2nd October 2026 (end of week 2). You cannot change Semester 1 courses after this date. You can view your course choices in your MyEd Portal. Event App School of Informatics 2026/27 Welcome Fair for new Undergraduates Friday 18th September 2026, 11:00-14:00 in the Informatics Forum ground floor.The fair is an opportunity for us to welcome you to the Informatics community! You’ll be able to discover the wide range of Informatics societies and clubs, meet representatives from Careers and other University services, and hear a welcome talk from the Head of School.You’ll also have the chance to chat with students from later years and ask all your burning questions about life and study in Informatics.
